1964 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Henry Thelander has the title The Fir Tree and the Hare. Bing & grøndahl's Christmas plate from 1964 takes as its starting point Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Fir tree, whose ambition it was to grow so big that it could be cut down and go into the city for Christ- mas, had to suffer the indignity of the hare jumping over it for the first two years of the little tree's life.
