Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1960 depicts Oesterlars Roundchurch in Bornholm. 7 of the old roundchurches have been preserved in Denmark, of these four in Born- holm, with Oesterlars as the largest, 1 in Horne on Funen, 1 in Djursland and 1 near Sorø in Zealand.These churches have presu- mably been built as fortresses and churches around year 1000-1200. Østerlars Roundchurch was built in 1150 of raw cut granite boulders.
