Erik XIV born 13th December 1533 as son of Gustav Vasa and Katarina of Sachsen- Lauenburg. King after his father's death 1560. Crowned in Uppsala 1561. Captured and imprisoned 29th September 1568. Formally dethroned 26th January 1569. Imprisoned until his death 26th February 1577 in Örbyhus castle. Buried in Västerås Cathedral. Married to Karin Månsdotter. Motto: God gives to whom He wants.
