The motif of the 2023 Christmas plate depicts a herd of sheeps crossing the snow in the forest at Christmas time. The shepherd is carring a tired lamb in his arms and still he has time to stop and admire an old monument from the Viking period. You will find such monuments in many Danish forests in different sizes and they are often placed between the trees and not along the road. The sheep curiously look in different directions while they are crossing the forest to go home to a warm stable with straw. The lamb is also motif of the annual figurine, which complement the plate beautifully.
