About the product
1975 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Kaj Lange, has as its motif Marselisborg Palace. Royal Copenhagen's Christmas plate from 1975 depicts Marselisborg castle near Aarhus at winter time. It was built 1899- 1902 and was a gift from the citizens of Denmark to King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine on the occasion of their wedding in 1898. The palace is situated in the Marselisborg woods, a typical Danish scene, with a large number of beeches. In 1969, King Frederik IX handed Marselisborg over to the present queen of Denmark Margrethe and to Prins Henrik, and the palace is now used a their summer residence.
