About the product
1973 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Kaj Lange, has the title Going Home for Christmas. Royal Copenhagen's Christmas plate from 1973 depicts the homeward journey, to many people a prelude to reliving old Christmas traditions which are reminiscent of home and the family gathering. Kaj Lange chose a motif which conveys a feeling of expectancy and excitement of the reunion with family and friends. Also it depicts a historic scene, the locomotive, the E-engine, which was the last of the steam engines used by the Danish Railways. It has now given way to further technical develop- ments and is a reminder of an era gone by.
