The 1980 Desirée commemorative plate was manufactured of The Porcelain Factory Désirée to celebrate the tenth anniversary for the first Hans Christian Andersen Christmas plate manufactured by The Porcelain Factory Desiree, also known as Désirée Denmark, Svend Jensen of Denmark, Old Copenhagen Blue. The first Christmas plate was produced in 1970 and had the same motif as this 1980 Sven Jensen commemorative plate. The motif of the plate was Hans Christian Andersen's House in Odense, Denmark. The plate was designed by Gerhard Sausmark and was manufactured in underglaze.
