Information on the back of the plate:
The steam launch "Hong Kong" now appears today, after extensive restoration work, as new - a beautiful example of the effort put into even a small boat a century ago. Hong Kong was built on St. Croix in 1882 and was sold around 1897 to H.N. Andersen (ØK) in Bangkok. It came to Denmark in 1920 and was converted into a motorboat, later received a superstructure, and ended up as a wreck in Furesøen, where the current owner rescued it from being burned as a Midsummer bonfire in 1976. Several years of restoration and extensive research, including the construction of a new steam boiler and a 2-cylinder steam engine, have restored this beautiful and rare boat to its original appearance.
