Plate No. 1 in the Danish Steamship Friends series titled "Danish Steamships" The porcelain plate was designed by Bertina Kærager and produced by Elg & Elg.
Information on the back of the plate:
S/S Agnete was built at the Helsingør shipyard in 1911 for Det Sydfyenske Dampskibsselskab. Agnete was a modern ship for its time and also a very beautiful vessel. It had a tonnage of 149 gross tons and its 2-cylinder compound steam engine produced 350 ihp at 12 atm boiler pressure. Agnete accommodated 320 passengers and sailed extensively in Danish waters. In the 1960s, Agnete was chartered for trips on the Oresund, including from Helsingør to Hven, Höganäs, and Mölle. However, this service ceased in 1966, and efforts were made in Helsingør to save S/S Agnete from scrapping, but unfortunately without success. In 1968, Denmark's second-to-last coal-fired coastal passenger steamer was scrapped - one of the most beautiful.
