About the product
Edvard Jensen, who designed 1988 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, chose the statue of Hans Christian Andersen, situated in the King's Garden in Copenhagen, as his motif. Denmark's world famous writer of fairy tales is sitting in a Danish winter landscape, surrounded by doves, eating the crums, which visitors have left during the day. The King's Garden as the garden is called, is now a very popular park, open to the public. This park isIn the park we find Rosenborg castle, which was built by king Christian IV. The palace is now used as a museum, and it holds for instance the chronological collections of the Danish kings and the crown jewels. This palace is one of the most visited sites in Copenhagen, for tourists as well as for the Danes.
