About the product
1966 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Henry Theander, and the title Home for Christmas, depicts a typical Danish scenery of its time. Small fishing boats heading for harbour on Christmas eve. In keeping with tradition, the small fishing boats are decorated with little Christmas trees in the top of each mast, the lanterns are lit, and the Christmas star is shining. Denmark did at the time have a very strong naval tradition. Probably due to the fact that Denmark includes one peninsula, Jutland, and 443 named islands. Denmark has a coast line of 7314 km, so it has come natural for our country to develop fishing and other kinds of sea transport.
