1963 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Henry Thelander, has the title The Christmas Elf. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1963 depicts the pixie waiting with the cat for their Christmas porridge. Tradition has it that the pixie, if he did not like the way the amily treated him, would leave the farm and take happi- ness with him. It was not, however, difficult to keep the pixie happy, as a bowl of Christ- mas porridge around Christmas would make him stay.
