About the product
1928 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Achtin Friis, bears the title Eskimos Looking at the Church of Their little Village in Greenland. Bing & Grøndahl's Christmas plate from 1928 depicts Inuits in their Greenlandic national costumes, a handmade fur costume with breadwork, sealskin trousers and white kamiks, looking towards their church. Greenland, the world's largest island, is part of the Danish Kingdom. In 1979, though, a law on home rule was passed, and today Greenland is almost entirely self governed. Although Greenland is large, only the coast- al areas can be inhabited, as the vast majority of the island is covered by ice. Greenland has a population of abour 58000 people.
