About the product

1925 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Achton Friis, is titled The Child's Christmas. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1925 depicts the idyllic atmosphere on Christmas eve, where the young couple are looking at the Christmas tree with all its candles, and their young child is watching from his bed. He is still too young to understand why we celebrate Christ- mas, but he can look happily at the many candles. In Denmark we celebrate Christmas on the night of the 24th of December, by having a Christmas dinner, going around the Christmas tree, holding each others hands singing the Christmas carols, and afterwards presents are handed out.
