About the product
1906 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Dahl Jensen, is titled Sleighing to Church on Christmas Eve. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1906 depicts a father and daughter on their way to church in a sleigh. The sleigh was at that time an important means of trans- portation, soon to be replaced by the motor- car. The Church depicted on the plate is Faare- vejle Church, which is primarily known, because this is the church in which the Earl of Bothwell was buried. The reason for this is that Faarevejle church was at that time chapel of Dragsholm Palace, where the Earl of Bothwell, the husband of Maria Stuart, was imprisoned until his death in 1578.
