This 1984 Bing & Grondahl Danish Marine plate has the title s/s Frederik VIII. The motif of this 1984 Bing & Grondahl Danish Marine plate shows the Danish passenger ship named s/s Frederik VIII.

The Scandinavian - America Line was started in 1902. Frederik VIII was the fourth ship in the company and its flagship. It was also the biggest passenger ship in Denmark. The ship sailed on the Copenhagen - New York route from february 1914. The trip took 11 days and nights and was going through Kristiania - Kristianssand and Halifax. The last trip on the route was in 1935 and Frederik VIII had its last trip in december 1935. The year after it was sold to Great Britain to scrapping.
