Denmark's first railway ferry was built in 1883 at Kockum in Malmö, as a paddle steamer with 2 tracks and an effective track length of 120 m. Entered into service on December 1, 1883, and after 40 years of service in 1923, sold to a German company for a price of 100,000 kr. It was equipped with 2 steam engines totaling 1,200 horsepower. The diameter of the paddle wheels was 6.00m with 10 wooden paddles, each 2.49 x 0.965m, which were controlled eccentrically. There were rudders at both the bow and stern, allowing docking at ferry terminals from both ends. Onboard, there were both ladies' and gentlemen's saloons, in both 1st and 2nd class, as well as a smoking salon. The crossing time was 1 hour and 15 minutes. Length: 77.42m Passengers: 900
