2000 Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate with the title Dolphin with Calf was designed by Henry Thelander. Dolphins are frolicsome and social animals, who live closely together. Many generations are often found in one single school. The young are born live and nurse with their mother until they can find food on their own. The bond between calf and mother is perserved however throughout their entire lives. The Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day plates were started in 1969 and are still being continued with a new Mother's Day plate every year.
