Royal Copenhagen's Christmas Plate will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2008. Five carefully selected plates and plaquettes from the period 1908 to 2008 are therefore being issued from 2004 onwards. The last of the selected plates and the 2008 edition was originally issued in 1908 and shows the Virgin Mary with the Baby Jesus. The Christian Danish Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, and this mofit marked the start of a whole century of Christmas plates.
