2012 Royal Copenhagen Annual Mug, small, designed by Lars Ahlstrand, is a porcelain mug with many colors. This year the motif was inspired by fireflies dancing in the darkness of the Bengali night, while the moon casts long shadows over a peaceful Indian village. Royal Copenhagen released a small and a large annual mug with identical decoration every year from 1967 to 2014. Every year a new artist was given the mugs a new expression.
