About the product
Otto Pedersen (1902 - 1995) was a highly acclaimed artist from Funen, with a background from the Technical School in Odense and being a self-taught sculptor. He was also a member of the Funen Spring Exhibition, where he presented his works.
His creations were showcased in prominent exhibitions, including the Spring Exhibition in Odense, Artists' Autumn Exhibition, Fyns Forum, Statens Museum for Kunst, and many more.
From the early stages of his career, he utilized wood as the material to craft the characteristic and delicate female figures he's renowned for. This specific piece is no exception.
The wooden figure is carved from reddish wood and depicts a woman with her arms above her head.
It is signed "Otto P" at the base and stands 26 cm tall.
In truly excellent condition, although it has a usage mark/chip on the front of the left breast.
