Bing & Grøndahl German Shepherd figure no. 2018 porcelain 22 cm

This Bing & Grøndahl German Shepherd figure no. 2018 is a classic porcelain figure with a calm and attentive expression. The dog stands upright with its head raised and pointed ears, and the figure captures the characteristic blend of strength, intelligence, and loyalty for which the German Shepherd is known. The grey, brownish, and light shades are kept in a natural colour scale, which gives the figure depth and life.

From every angle, the dog figure appears carefully crafted with fine transitions in the fur and a harmonious body shape. The standing posture gives the figure presence, as if the dog has just caught a sound and is turning attentively towards its surroundings. The glossy glaze emphasises the modelled details in the face, legs, tail, and fur, and the underglaze-decorated surface gives the well-known, classic expression that many collectors associate with older Bing & Grøndahl animal figures.

A porcelain figure like this fits beautifully in a collection of dog figures, but it also works beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a bookcase, or on a desk, where it adds personality and history to the home. For dog lovers and collectors of Danish porcelain, it is a figure with both decorative value and collector interest. At the same time, it is a fine example of how quality design and solid craftsmanship can be preserved and enjoyed for many years to come.

This German Shepherd in porcelain is also an obvious gift idea for someone who loves dogs, Danish design, or figures with character. The natural appearance makes it easy to combine with other classic porcelain, other animal figures, or a more personal interior with finds that have soul and history.
