Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 247 or 22747

Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 247 or 22747 is a charming animal figurine with plenty of life in its expression. The small bear cub is modeled lying on its back with its paws raised in the air, and precisely that playful position gives the figurine a warm and lively presence. The white glaze emphasizes the soft shapes, while the fine details around the snout, mouth, and fur unfold the motif beautifully.

The figurine is designed by Knud Kyhn, who is known for his naturalistic animal figurines for Royal Copenhagen. Here, it is not the solemn or strict that is at the center, but rather the animal's movement and personality. The polar bear cub has an open, almost smiling expression, and the round body as well as the sturdy paws give the figurine a special balance between lifelike form and decorative simplicity. This makes it ideal for collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, Knud Kyhn figurines, and classic Danish animal figurines.

As a porcelain figurine, it fits nicely in both modern and more classic homes, where it can stand alone in a bookcase, on a side table, or together with other animal figurines in porcelain. It is also an obvious gift idea for someone who appreciates Danish design, figurines with character, or older handicrafts with history. A figurine like this adds personality to the home and is at the same time a beautiful example of how good craftsmanship and timeless design can live on and create joy for many years.
