Royal Copenhagen cat figurine no. 178 - white sleeping cat

Royal Copenhagen cat figurine no. 178 is a small porcelain figurine with a calm and present expression. The cat lies relaxed with closed eyes and its front paws tucked under itself, giving the figurine the quiet, harmonious character that many collectors and cat lovers appreciate. The simple white glaze is emphasized by the discreet color details at the ears and muzzle, which bring the motif to life without taking anything away from the pure formal language.

As a cat figurine in porcelain, this model is a fine example of Royal Copenhagen's ability to unite a lifelike motif with simple form. The small size makes the figurine easy to place in the home, where it fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet collection, or as a calm detail on a desk, chest of drawers, or windowsill. The sleeping cat adds a soft and balanced expression and can also be combined with other animal figurines or small porcelain objects for a personal still life.

This Royal Copenhagen figurine appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain figurines and to those simply looking for a well-chosen gift for a cat friend. The motif is easy to love, and the classic expression means that the figurine works just as well in a modern home as in a more traditional interior. It is also ideal as a small collector's figurine if you wish to continue building a collection of mini figurines from Royal Copenhagen.
