Royal Copenhagen 2020
The motif on the Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate for 2020 is titled "Church of our Lady" and depicts a small owl perched in the Round Tower by Trinity Church, overlooking the Church of Our Lady. The same applies to the Royal Copenhagen Christmas Drop 2020 and the Royal Copenhagen Christmas Bell 2020, which feature a section of the same motif and also have the year engraved on the back. The Royal Copenhagen Christmas Drop 2020 and Royal Copenhagen Christmas Bell 2020 are the last ones released by Royal Copenhagen, concluding the series of Christmas drops and bells. The motif on the Christmas plate for 2020, as well as the Christmas drop and bell, is created by Allan Therkelsen.
Allan Therkelsen is also responsible for the Royal Copenhagen annual figurine for 2020, which depicts the same owl seen on the Christmas plate and drop. The fine, small underglaze owl has a brown back and a white belly.
The Royal Copenhagen Christmas Figurine Ornament for 2020 is a beautiful porcelain pine cone, presented in the classic blue underglaze color. The hand-painted pine cone is designed by Sven Vestergaard.
Royal Copenhagen has also released a small Christmas plaquette, and in 2020, the motif features a winter scene of ice skating on the lakes in Frederiksberg Garden with Frederiksberg Palace in the background. This motif is also designed by Sven Vestergaard.
Last but not least, Royal Copenhagen has released the Annual Santa figurine 2020 and the Annual Christmas Tree 2020, both designed by Sven Vestergaard. The Santa Claus of the Year is a bit less formal with an unbuttoned jacket, and he's out for a walk with his teddy bear, while the Christmas tree of the year stands beautifully decorated with red hearts and white garlands. Next to the tree, Santa Claus's teddy bear sits, having come in after a walk with Santa Claus.
Bing & Groendahl 2020
The motif on the B&G Christmas plate for 2020, the B&G Christmas Drop 2020, and the B&G Christmas Bell 2020 depicts a winter evening scene of Rosenborg Castle in King's Garden with the Christmas star in the sky above the castle. Therefore, their title is naturally "Rosenborg Castle." The Christmas plate for 2020 is designed by Dag Samsund. 2020 is the last year that a B&G Christmas drop and bell are issued.
The Bing & Groendahl Mother's Day plate for 2020 features a motif of a puffin with a young one. The Mother's Day plate for 2020 was designed by Allan Therkelsen.
The Children's Day plate for 2020 is titled "The Little Vikings" and depicts two children playing as vikings. The boy is ready for battle with a shield and sword, while the girl blows a horn to signal the fight. The Children's Day plate is designed by Sven Vestergaard.
