The Christmas in Denmark plates from Royal Copenhagen
In 1991 came the first plate in this beautiful and colorful series of Christmas plates from Royal Copenhagen. The Christmas in Denmark Series is quite different from the traditional blue Christmas plates, which was the whole philosophy behind the series. Royal Copenhagen and artist Hans Henrik Hansen wanted to create a more modern series, as a complement to the world-famous blue Christmas plates.
With the series consisting of 6 Christmas plates we follow the family's Christmas preparation from the Christmas tree is retrieved in the snow-covered pine forest until the dance around the tree on Christmas Eve, you also find motif showing the Christmas presents, the family skating on ice, playing with sleigh and in a quiet moment 'A Christmas Carol' is read aloud.
The Christmas in Denmark Christmas plates are especially popular in Norway and there are still new collectors.
The festive Royal Copenhagen Christmas in Denmark plates are made of the so-called serigraphy (silk screen), the motif stands out beautifully with strong and bright colors.
