Royal Copenhagen figurine ornaments
Royal Copenhagen has released figurines for hanging since 1999. The figurine ornaments were published in relation with different plates, namely the ordinary Christmas plate and the Children's Christmas plate. For a short time there were produced several Royal Copenhagen figurine ornaments every year, however the last years there was only released a single figurine ornament. The Royal Copenhagen figurine ornaments were designed by Ingrid Jensen and Sven Vestergaard.
Bing & Grondahl figurine ornaments
In 2001, Bing & Grondahl launched a new series called "The Snowfairies' Christmas". The series consisted of a plate of 20 cm, a round ornament and a figurine ornament. The series was intended primarily for the export market, as we in Denmark don't have tradition of elves at Christmas. B&G The Snowfairies' Christmas series ended in 2005. The series was designed by Kirsten Seeberg and decorated under the glaze in beautiful light blue and white colours.
From 2002 to 2009 B&G annually published a figurine hanging or figurine ornament for the Christmas plate series. The Figurine ornament can be hung on the Christmas tree or a string as Christmas decorations. The first figurine ornament was a rocking horse which is also seen on Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate from the same year. Jørgen Nielsen has designed a wide range of Bing & Grondahl Christmas plates at this time and he is also the artist behind the figurine ornament.
In 2003 we see the snowman as motif of the figurine ornament and in 2004 the motif ia a boy with a rabbit at his side. The figurine ornament still relate to the Christmas plate. From 2003 the designer was Sven Vestergaard.
The motif in 2005, was a person carrying a bundle of hay, maybe going to hang it up for the birds, so they have something to eat in the cold winter. In 2006, the figurine ornament depict a Christmas tree, not yet dressed and in 2007 the motif was a boy with a bird sitting on his hands. Bing & Grondahl Christmas ornament 2008 was a sleigh packed with presents and the last B&G Christmas ornament in the series is a stag.
The Bing & Grondahl figurine ornaments are perfect decorations on the Christmas tree, but you can also take the ribbon of them and display them standing on a table or sideboard, so they are promoting throughout Christmas and not only while the Christmas tree is in the living room.
