Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl anniversary mugs and commemorative mugs
Besides the regular Annual Mugs, Royal Copenhagen has released some mugs for anniversaries and for special occasions. Royal Copenhagen has published special mug to celebrate Princess Anne Marie's wedding with King Constantine in 1964, Princess Benedikte's wedding with Prince Richard in 1968, and Queen Margrethe's wedding with Prince Henry in 1967. The commemorative mugs are made of faience with the royal monograms.
In 1975 Royal Copenhagen celebrated the factory's 200 years anniversary and in doing so released also a Royal Copenhagen anniversary mug with the factory stamp with the three waves and the royal crown as a motif.
The new Little Belt Bridge between Middelfart and Fredericia was inaugurated on 21st October 1970 and on that occasion Royal Copenhagen produced two different memorial mugs with design of the bridge. The new Little Belt Bridge has three lanes in each direction, for comparison, the old Little Belt Bridge has only one lane in each direction, so the new Little Belt Bridge was eagerly awaited.
Royal Copenhagen has also released a large mug with the University of Copenhagen and the Royal Guard. The mug with the Royal Guard is distinct from the other memorial mugs and commemorative mugs because it has a lid.
