Mothers Day figurines from Bing & Grondahl
In 1986 Bing & Grondahl started to produce a porcelain figurine in relation to the Mother's Day plate. The figurines depict the same animal as the Mothers Day plate, so in 1986 the Mothers Day figurine was an elephant, as on the 1986 Mothers Day plate. The first Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate was issued in 1969, but the series of Mother's Day figurines was first started in 1986. The last B&G Mother's Day figurine was released in 2007, but the Mother's Day plates are still in production.
If you place the Mother's Day figurine and the Mothers Day plate next to each other, for example on a dresser, a sideboard or similar, you get a nice scenario of matching plates and figurines. Natually you can of course also collect only the Mothers Day figurines. For those who are not so interested in plates, the figurines are a good alternative. They express the same motherly love as the plates, and are an ideal gift for your mother on Mother's Day, her birthday or any other day.
