Bing & Grondahl figurines of Freddie
In 2000, Bing & Grondahl released the figurine series of the cute teddy bear - Freddie and his friends. Freddie is a lovely teddy bear who we follow along with his friends the next few years. The first year (2000) shows Freddie skiing with a monkey on his back. The series also includes a plate, in 2000 with the motif of Freddie skiing and a cow on the sledge. The whole Bing & Grondahl Freddie series was designed by the productive artist Sven Vestergaard. The figurines were produced under the name and stamp by Bing & Grondahl, but since Bing & Grondahl at this time had been merged with Royal Copenhagen, some people think that Freddie is made by Royal Copenhagen.
At the wall plate from 2001, Freddie and his friends can be seen with a rabbit and a dog sitting at a picnic table under a tree in the garden. The rabbit is eating a delicious carrot, the dog with lovely bones and Freddie with a large jar of honey. They are talking a lot and all seem to enjoy the meting. Bing & Grondahl figure of Freddie 2001 shows Freddie after his friends' departure, where he gets a well-earned rest in his chair with the honey jar in his arms.
In 2002 we see Freddie in pilot jacket and flying goggles, ready to take off with his new air plane. On the plate we see his assistants, to whom he gives one last message before he takes the first spin.
Freddie is also a great golf player and Bing & Grondahl Freddie figure from 2003 shows Freddie just before he lifts the golf club for a blow. On the Bing & Grondahl Freddie and his friends plate, Freddie lifted the club to battle his friends - a hedgehog and a dog.
